A Perfect Match
Before creating his monumental bronze sculptures, Christophe Charbonnel shapes the initial sketches of his works using clay mounted on a metal frame, depicting figures in a state of perpetual evolution. Central to the artist’s work, the notion of incompleteness allows him to explore silences, gaps, and an aesthetic in which imperfection becomes a sensitive and accurate way of representing the living. This raw, unfinished quality blends perfectly with the world of Undertaker—his flawed and rugged protagonist—and the powerful inking of his illustrator.
