Through fantastical landscapes and imaginary creatures, Julien Delval brings to life dreamlike worlds of breathtaking beauty. Gouache, oil and acrylic paintings are highly durable. However, a few precautions should be taken to ensure that they will keep for a long time. We recommend that you avoid exposing them to direct light, in order to reduce their exposure to UV rays. Particular attention should be paid to their support in order to protect them from humidity; canvas and wooden supports are particularly sensitive to this element. We recommend that you avoid any sudden changes in temperature or humidity, which could lead to tension or loosening of the canvas, requiring the intervention of a framer.

Julien Delval (born in 1972) is a graduate of the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris. He began his career as an illustrator for role-playing games at Multisim, before going on to create numerous book covers for publishers specializing in fantasy literature. He continued his work in the world of games, notably with Days of Wonder. He now devotes himself to more personal artworks, depicting ancient, mythological and fantastical worlds inspired by classical painting and 20th-century imagery. With Caurette Editions, he published a monograph in 2020, followed by an illustrated edition of Shakespeare’s Othello in 2022, before turning his hand to A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2026.  Complete biography
