The Daniel Maghen Gallery is delighted to present a major retrospective of the talented Vincent Mallié, from February 19 to March 16, 2019, to mark the release of the final album in his flagship series: Le Grand Mort (published by Vents d'Ouest).
A dreamlike world
A critical and commercial success, this eight-volume saga is a thrilling fantasy tale set against the backdrop of a journey between worlds, written by Régis Loisel and Jean-Blaise Djian. Vincent Mallié effortlessly brings the dreamlike world of Le Grand Mort to life, while perfectly capturing the collapse of the human world through meticulously inked pages and impeccable compositions. This landmark series has established Vincent Mallié as one of the best artists in the genre. The exhibition will feature more than 150 original artworks, including unedited illustrations and paintings created especially for the event. The artist will also exhibit a unique sculpture of Blanche, the result of his collaboration with Thierry Chapeau, and a painting on longboards, created in partnership with Philippe Ledoux.
Finally, a selection of pages and illustrations from La Quête de l’Oiseau du Temps will be on display. This is the flagship series by the duo Loisel and Le Tendre, with Vincent Mallié illustrating volumes 7 and 8.
Daniel Maghen and Vincent Mallié are delighted to invite you to the exhibition opening on Friday, February 22, from 7 p.m.
