Le Grand Mort

After their first collaboration on the prequel to La Quête de l'Oiseau du Temps, Régis Loisel and Vincent Mallié created a new fantasy series: Le Grand Mort. The story begins in Brittany, where Pauline, a young student, meets Erwan, a mysterious man in possession of a grimoire about a certain “Petit Peuple.” (Little People). While she mocks Erwan’s folkloric beliefs, Pauline does not realize that everything is about to change… Closely connected to our own world, the realm of the Petit Peuple is slowly declining: magic is dying, and our world is on the verge of falling into chaos. Although invisible, a symbiotic relationship links these two worlds: one cannot survive without the other. This ecological fable, infused with esotericism and fantasy, invites readers to question their place in the world, their relationship with nature, and the consequences of their actions on the other creatures that share their universe.
