Josep Homs

A gifted artist, Josep Homs has left his mark on Franco-Belgian comics with his series SHI (published by Dargaud), conceived by Zidrou and masterfully directed, drawn, and colored by the Catalan creator. The virtuoso's elegant and meticulous style and his talent as a painter shine through on every page. 

Josep Homs’s reputation has been soaring since the success of Shi and his adaptations of Millennium. His original works are highly sought-after on the comic book market, with a known record price of around €17,400 for the cover of volume 4 of Shi, sold at auction in 2020 by Daniel Maghen Enchère.

To preserve your works on paper, we recommend that you never expose them to direct light, as UV rays can damage the mediums used. Paintings made with pastel or charcoal require special care to avoid rubbing.
We advise you to display them away from windows, and to use frames made from pH-neutral conservation materials and “Museum” glass with anti-UV and anti-reflective treatment. If you prefer to keep your works unframed, we recommend storing them flat, in drawing cartons, with sheets of pH-neutral permanent paper in between. Keep them away from light and humidity.

Born in 1975, Josep Homs is a Catalan artist and colorist who trained at the École Joso in Barcelona. After starting out in journalism, advertising, design, and graffiti, he moved to the United States, where he worked for Marvel on Red Sonja and Blade. Upon his return to Europe, he made a name for himself with Secrets – L’Angélus, written by Frank Giroud and published by Dupuis. His talent subsequently led him to create the comic book adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s famous Millennium trilogy, based on a script by Sylvain Runberg. In 2017, he launched the Shi series with Zidrou, for which he earned the Saint-Michel Award for Best Artwork.
