Ana Miralles

A rare female artist working in the erotic genre, Ana Miralles made her mark with the now-legendary series Djinn (Dargaud), created by the renowned writer Jean Dufaux. Her realistic style, mastery of watercolor and elegant line propelled her to the top.

The success of the two “white glove” auctions dedicated to Ana Miralles in 2018 at Christie’s and then in 2022 at Daniel Maghen Enchères confirms the artist’s standing in the market for original comic art. The world record for this artist goes to the original cover of volume 3 of Djinn (2003), estimated at €40,000 and sold for €68,330 including tax.

To preserve your works on paper, we recommend that you never expose them to direct light, as UV rays can damage the mediums used. Paintings made with pastel or charcoal require special care to avoid rubbing.
We advise you to display them away from windows, and to use frames made from pH-neutral conservation materials and “Museum” glass with anti-UV and anti-reflective treatment. If you prefer to keep your works unframed, we recommend storing them flat, in drawing cartons, with sheets of pH-neutral permanent paper in between. Keep them away from light and humidity.

Born in 1959 in Madrid, Spanish comic artist and illustrator Ana Mirallès made her debut in comic art in 1982 in the magazine Rambla, then worked as an illustrator before publishing El Brillo de una Mirada (1990, with Emilio Ruiz), released in Europe under the title Corps à corps. She followed this with Eva Medusa and then À la recherche de la licorne in 1997. She gained widespread recognition with the Djinn series (2001–2016, with Jean Dufaux), which sold over a million copies. She also published Mano en Mano (2008), Muraqqa' (2011), Wáluk (2011–2020), and Ava, quarante-huit heures dans la vie d'Ava Gardner (2024). The recipient of numerous awards, she notably received the Grand Prix at the Barcelona Art Fair in 2009 and the Gold Medal of Fine Arts in 2025. The artist has been the subject of prestigious auctions at Christie’s (2018) and Daniel Maghen Enchères (2022), as well as a major retrospective at the Daniel Maghen Gallery (2025). In 2022, Éditions Daniel Maghen published a definitive work on her oeuvre with ANA, her very first art book. Ana Mirallès lives and works in Spain.
