The Daniel Maghen Gallery is delighted to present an exhibition dedicated to the direct color artwork of three talented authors, Olivier Boiscommun, Serge Pellé, and Patrick Prugne, from September 1 to 26, 2020 (extended until October 10).
An outstanding watercolourist and illustrator
For this second exhibition at the gallery, Olivier Boiscommun will be unveiling for the very first time the superb original artworks from his series Le Règne (Le Lombard), written by Sylvain Runberg, as well as pages from Meutes, written by Jean Dufaux, and from his solo one-shot Lueur de Nuit published by Glénat. This is an opportunity to discover the genius of this great watercolorist and outstanding comic artist, who is able to adapt his style to suit his stories. Eighty original pages, covers, and illustrations will be on display, including some very large formats created especially for the exhibition over the last few years.
A remarkable work of science fiction
For his third exhibition at the gallery, Serge Pellé returns with the latest volumes of his iconic series Orbital (Dupuis), written by Sylvain Runberg. For 15 years, Pellé has continued to put all his talent at the service of this remarkable science fiction story. A true creator, he has developed an incredibly rich universe through a multitude of alien characters, spaceships, spectacular settings, and stunning colors! The artist will also present superb artworks inspired by the series and created for the exhibition.
The last album of Patrick Prugne
Finally, the exhibition showcases Patrick Prugne's latest album, Tomahawk (Daniel Maghen). With the fifth installment in his famous Indian sagas (Canoë Bay, Frenchman, Pawnee, Iroquois), Prugne's artistry continues to shine. This time, the artist takes us back to 1756, telling the story of a revenge plot involving a man and a grizzly bear, set against the backdrop of a turning point in North American history. A highly talented watercolorist, Prugne pays attention to every detail and turns his pages into true paintings, notable for their graphic quality and their delicate color palette. An ode to nature that can be savored with every page.
