Éric Hérenguel & Laura Zuccheri Exhibition

To mark the release of the complete black-and-white edition of The Kong Crew (published by Caurette), Éric Hérenguel is taking over the gallery walls with a selection of the most spectacular original pages from the series and artworks created especially for the event. Aviation enthusiast Éric Hérenguel places this theme at the heart of The Kong Crew, where aerial combat rubs shoulders with meticulous settings, elegant pin-ups, and action scenes worthy of the greatest pulp stories. For this series, the artist deploys a graphic universe that is rich and overflowing with humor. Dinosaurs, Amazons, and wild creatures populate an abandoned Manhattan, transformed into a playground by the terrible Kong. The artist stands out for his exceptionally dense inking, infusing each scene with a breathless rhythm. This blend of humor, frenetic action, and retro 1940s atmosphere transports the reader into a unique universe where King Kong reigns supreme. A masterful work with dazzling aesthetics, it plunges us into an alternative and savage version of New York, transformed into a jungle.

The exhibition will also be devoted to Laura Zuccheri's exceptional work. Through a selection of spectacular pages, she presents three major graphic worlds created by the artist: Kamasutra for the historical section (published by Daniel Maghen, written by Sudeep Menon), Thellus for science fiction (published by Glénat, written by Simona Mogavino), and Les Épées de verre for fantasy (published by Les Humanoïdes Associés, written by Sylviane Corgiat). Following in the tradition of the great realist artists of the 9th Art, Laura Zuccheri has an impressive mastery of light, color, and powerful compositions, some of which are reminiscent of Rosinski's iconic Thorgal covers. Her exceptionally large pages, painted in direct acrylic colors, resemble actual paintings. Her settings enhance the nature she reinvents and literally transforms in her artworks. Her technique and boundless imagination enable her to create creatures and worlds of rare originality, making her a figure of excellence among contemporary comic artists.
