Author of Jonathan, A la recherche de Peter Pan (In Search of Peter Pan) and Voyage en Italie (In Search of Shirley), scriptwriter and comic artist Cosey draws inspiration from his travels. The uniqueness of his graphic style, his color palette and his stories blending adventure, history and spirituality have revolutionized the world of comic strips, earning him the Angoulême Grand Prix in 2017. He is a true classic of the comic art genre.

After winning the Angoulême Grand Prix in 2017, Cosey cemented his status as a major figure in the world of comics alongside André Juillard, Hermann, and François Boucq. Among the most sought-after pieces are the gouache-painted covers for Jonathan, such as the one for Le Berceau du Bodhisattva, which sold for 21,060€ (Daniel Maghen Auctions, 2025). Regularly featured at auctions, his entire body of work appeals to a wide audience through its evocative quality and the high standards of his craftsmanship. The panels from In Search of Peter Pan and Journey to Italy remain the most sought-after by fans of the genre. Finally, it is worth noting the excellent price achieved by panel No. 52 from Celle qui fut, which sold for €18,760—three times its estimate (Daniel Maghen Auctions, 2022). 

To ensure that your pages are kept in good condition, we recommend that you never expose them to direct light, as UV rays can damage the media used to produce them. Although Indian ink is a perennial material, the paper support may change when exposed to UV light. Note that watercolor plates require special attention, as this medium is particularly sensitive to light. Pieces containing pastel or charcoal require special care to avoid rubbing.
We advise you to display them away from windows, and to use frames made of pH-neutral conservation materials and “Museum” glass with anti-UV and anti-reflective treatment. If you prefer to keep your works unframed, we recommend storing them flat, in drawing cartons, with sheets of pH-neutral permanent paper in between. Keep them away from light and humidity

A Swiss comic artist and scriptwriter born in 1950 near Lausanne, Cosey is a leading figure in Franco-Belgian comics and the recipient of the 2017 Angoulême Grand Prix. Trained by Derib, he first gained recognition with Jonathan, an introspective series that won awards as early as 1983. He has also created notable albums such as À la recherche de Peter Pan (In Search of Peter Pan) and several stories published by Aire Libre, including Le Voyage en Italie, Saigon-Hanoi and Zeke raconte des histories (Zeke Tells Stories), while regularly returning to the Jonathan series. He has also produced a Mickey Mouse album (2016) and more personal artworks such as Calypso. His final Jonathan installment was published in 2021, followed by Yiyun in 2025.
