Viktor Kalvachev

Born in Bulgaria in 1972, Viktor Kalvachev moved to the United States in his early twenties, where he launched a diverse career in the entertainment industry spanning art direction, graphic design and graphic novels. As a freelance artist, he contributed to major film productions, such as Spider-Man and The Incredibles. His international career has included high-profile collaboration with Disney, Pixar, and with Steven Spielberg.

Viktor Kalvachev has received numerous prizes, including the Betsy Award. In addition, his original cover art for the comics Blue Estate earned two Eisner Awards nominations. Blue Estate is by no means the only graphic novel he has worked on; he has also contributed to PHERONE and is the artist behind the covers of comics such as Batman Beyond and Men of War. 

Kalvachev holds a master’s degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. He currently resides in Paris.
