Luc Jacamon

Luc Jacamon was born on May 14, 1967, in Haute-Saône. As early as 1986, he made his first foray into the world of comic art by winning a student Alfred Award at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. Then he studied at a school of applied arts, enrolling in the visual arts and communication program. Upon graduating, Luc Jacamon initially worked in the advertising industry, creating rough sketches and illustrations. He continued to pursue comic art and worked on developing his own personal style alongside his professional activities. It was during this period that, through a colleague, he met the writer Matz, and they decided to collaborate on projects for the “Ninth Art.” This led to the creation of Le Tueur (The Killer), whose first volume was published in 1998 by Casterman. The series, which spans thirteen volumes, has established itself as a classic of the graphic novel crime genre and was adapted for the big screen by David Fincher, with Michael Fassbender in the title role. Still working as a duo and with the same publisher, they launched another series in 2005, Cyclopes, for which Luc Jacamon handed over the artwork to Gaël de Meyère starting with the third volume. He is currently working on a new series planned as a four-volume set, adapted from La Religion, a novel by Tim Willocks whose story—scripted by Benjamin Legrand—is set in 16^th century Malta.
