Paul Echegoyen works in traditional media – graphite, watercolor and gouache – to create dreamlike worlds inspired by Miyazaki and Moebius, paying almost naturalistic attention to vegetation and fantastical creatures in compositions that are rich and impressive in their detail. 

To preserve your works on paper, we recommend that you never expose them to direct light, as UV rays can damage the mediums used. Paintings made with pastel or charcoal require special care to avoid rubbing. Works containing watercolor are particularly sensitive to light, unlike gouache and acrylic.
We advise you to display them away from windows, and to use frames made from pH-neutral conservation materials and “Museum” glass with anti-UV and anti-reflective treatment. If you prefer to keep your works unframed, we recommend storing them flat, in drawing cartons, with sheets of pH-neutral permanent paper in between. Keep them away from light and humidity.

Paul Echegoyen grew up in a village at the foot of the Pyrenees, captivated by the enchanting worlds of Studio Ghibli and Disney. After completing his scientific baccalaureate, he attended the Tarbes Academy of Drawing, where his teachers encouraged him to pursue art. In 2003, he moved to Paris to enroll at the École Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques (ESAG) Penninghen. From 2008 onward, he worked as a freelancer in animation and advertising, before publishing his first children’s book, Le Bal des échassiers (The Waders' Ball), written by Sébastien Perez and published by Éditions du Seuil in 2011. He made a notable foray into comic art in 2014, providing the artwork for Léonard & Salaï, alongside Benjamin Lacombe, published by Soleil, before illustrating Les Voyages de Gulliver – De Laputa au Japon (Gulliver's Travels – From Laputa to Japan) in 2020.
