Astérix

Asterix, formerly known as Asterix the Gaul, is a cult comic art series created in 1959 by René Goscinny (script) and Albert Uderzo (artwork) for the launch of the magazine Pilote. The adventures of Asterix and Obelix, two indomitable Gauls and their village who continue to resist the invaders, have been enjoyed around the world. With 41 albums, translated into over a hundred languages and selling hundreds of millions of copies, Asterix is the second-best-selling comic art series in the world after One Piece. It has inspired numerous film adaptations, including the movie and TV series by Alain Chabat. The Asterix theme park opened in 1989 near Paris. Since the passing of its creators, the comic book adventures of the famous Gauls continue, with new albums written by Jean-Yves Ferri and illustrated by Didier Conrad and Fabcaro.
