Un Été indien

The first collaboration between two legends of comic art, Hugo Pratt and Milo Manara, this story is set in Puritan seventeenth-century Massachusetts. When two young Native Americans assault a reverend’s daughter, a colonist witnesses the scene and shoots them dead. This tragedy shatters the fragile balance between Native Americans and settlers, unleashing a wave of violence. Pratt takes on the role of writer here, delivering a carefully crafted story with clear moral stakes, blending in perfect harmony with Manara’s exuberant and sensual artwork.
