El Gaucho

A meeting between two comic art giants, El Gaucho was published in 1991 and marked the second collaboration between Hugo Pratt and Milo Manara. A sweeping historical epic, the album follows the intertwined destinies of Tom Browne and Molly Malone, swept along by the currents of history, the political upheavals of early nineteenth-century Argentina, and their own inner struggles.
A remarkable adventure story driven by Hugo Pratt’s richly layered script and Manara’s elegant and expressive artwork, El Gaucho is considered one of the most successful collaborations in the history of comic art.
