Manchu has become a science fiction icon for an entire generation, notably through his creation of the spacecraft Odysseus for the animated series Ulysses 31. The evocative power of his artwork and his commitment to scientific accuracy are evident in numerous cover illustrations, including those created for Delcourt series such as Jour J, Histoires Secrètes, and Golden Cup. His scientific rigor and meticulous attention to detail have made him one of the most sought-after artists within the Hard Science Fiction movement.

To preserve your works on paper, we recommend that you never expose them to direct light, as UV rays can damage the mediums used. Paintings made with pastel or charcoal require special care to avoid rubbing.
We advise you to display them away from windows, and to use frames made from pH-neutral conservation materials and “Museum” glass with anti-UV and anti-reflective treatment. If you prefer to keep your works unframed, we recommend storing them flat, in drawing cartons, with sheets of pH-neutral permanent paper in between. Keep them away from light and humidity.

After beginning his career in animation, he contributed to the acclaimed series Once Upon a Time... Space and Ulysses 31. From 1984 onward, he produced numerous covers for the leading French science fiction publishers. A specialist in hard science fiction and an astronomy enthusiast, he also collaborated with major scientific magazines. His artwork received several prestigious awards in 2001, including the Grand Prix de l’Imaginaire.
