Isabella Mazzanti

Instantly recognizable by her ethereal style, Isabella Mazzanti excels in gothic settings, where her delicate linework and extensive use of color come into their own.

To preserve your works on paper, we recommend that you never expose them to direct light, as UV rays can damage the mediums used. Paintings made with pastel or charcoal require special care to avoid rubbing. Works containing watercolor are particularly sensitive to light, unlike gouache and acrylic.
We advise you to display them away from windows, and to use frames made from pH-neutral conservation materials and “Museum” glass with anti-UV and anti-reflective treatment. If you prefer to keep your works unframed, we recommend storing them flat, in drawing cartons, with sheets of pH-neutral permanent paper in between. Keep them away from light and humidity.

A graduate in graphic arts and holder of a master’s degree in children’s literature from the Ars in Fabula school in Macerata, she furthered her training with a year spent in China, where she took courses in traditional art at several Chinese institutes and academies, before studying concept design and animation at the Animation Workshop in Denmark. A freelance illustrator and comic artist since 2010, she has published her work in Italy, France and the United States, lending her artistic touch to works as varied as Carmilla, Le Jardin des fees (The Fairy Garden), an illustrated edition of Wuthering Heights and, more recently, Les Fantômes (The Ghosts) with author Sébastien Perez, published by Albin Michel. Fascinated by fantastical creatures, from cats to bats, she readily identifies with the figure of the fox. Alongside her personal work, she serves as artistic director at the Idea Academy and founded the De Dominicis Creative Agency, which supports numerous Italian and international illustrators.
