The Daniel Maghen Gallery is delighted to present an exhibition by Patrick Prugne to mark the publication of Iroquois, his new Indian saga (published by Daniel Maghen).

Voyage en terres indiennes

In 1608, “Quebec” was nothing more than a name scribbled on a vague map of North America.

Patrick Prugne's book recounts Samuel de Champlain's journey through Iroquois country, a seminal episode in Canadian history. This event marked the beginning of commercial activity in “New France” and the start of a 200-year war between the French and the Iroquois.

For his fourth exhibition, Patrick Prugne invites us to discover the shores of the St. Lawrence River and the wooded lands of the Iroquois regions through some fifty large-format pages and illustrations. The collection of originals reveals a perfect mastery of watercolor, immersing us in the heart of the great Canadian wilderness with its superb atmospheres. The storyboard, enhanced by cinematic framing, supports an effective narrative and perfectly captures this adventure in the wilderness. This exhibition marks an important milestone in the artwork of Patrick Prugne, who is establishing himself as a complete artist.

Daniel Maghen and Patrick Prugne are pleased to invite you to the exhibition opening on Friday, September 9, from 7 p.m.
