From October 10 to November 4, 2023, the Daniel Maghen Gallery is proud to host Alex Alice's new “interplanetary” exhibition: “The Universe in 1875,” showcasing the wonders of his saga Le Château des étoiles (Castle in the Stars).
An immersive exhibition
The series shines with a unique brilliance among the original universes of contemporary comic art. This exploration of space, as Jules Verne might have conceived it, is part historical narrative, part unbridled science fiction, and part reinterpretation of the classic codes of adventure.
The exhibition will transport visitors back to 1875, to the very first interplanetary exhibition in Paris. Designed as a journey through the different pavilions, visitors will discover the most spectacular original pages from volumes V and VI of the series in an immersive setting filled with objects such as models, sketchbooks, plans, and spacesuits. Alex Alice will also unveil a series of watercolor artworks created especially for the exhibition, masterful scenes that further explore the magic of this universe.
