An Immense Talent at the Service of Great Stories

Born in 1982, Timothée Montaigne studied at the Institut Saint-Luc in Tournai and specialized in narrative arts at the École Pivaut in Nantes. He was soon spotted by Soleil Publishing, which commissioned him to illustrate the series Le Cinquième Evangile (The Fifth Gospel) with Jean-Luc Istin. He then assisted Mathieu Lauffray with the color preparation for Long John Silver. This collaboration would prove pivotal in shaping his vision of comic art. Since then, he has also illustrated Malicorne and joined the Troisième Testament (The Third Testament) project alongside Alex Alice, handling the artwork for its prequel, Julius, starting with Volume 2. He then took over the artwork for the series Le Prince de la Nuit (The Prince of the Night) beginning with Volume 8. In 2022, he published 1629, ou l'effrayante histoire des naufragés du Jakarta (1629, or the Terrifying Story of the Jakarta Shipwreck Survivors) with Glénat, written by Xavier Dorison—a story based on one of the bloodiest episodes in maritime history—and won the ACORAM Marine Bravo Zulu Comic Book Award in 2023. This album was a bestseller in bookstores, and the second volume was published in 2024.
