Rey Macutay

Rey Macutay began his career as an illustrator in the early 1990s, right after graduating from high school. At the time, he created illustrations for short stories, novels and serialized fiction published in several Filipino comic magazines. Shortly after, in 1995, he began working as a storyboard artist for animation studios in Manila. In 2005, after more than ten years in animation, he moved into advertising, notably creating storyboards for TV commercials, while keeping comic book projects on the side. In 2014, he was approached by Glénat to illustrate Jaurès in the "Ils ont fait l'Histoire" (They Made History) collection. Still with the same publisher, he released two novel adaptations: Ravage by René Barjavel and J’irai cracher sur vos tombes (I Shall Spit on Your Graves) by Vernon Sullivan, followed by Ok Corral in 2025 alongside two other artists.
