Fabrice Meddour

After completing his traditional education, Fabrice Meddour enrolled at the Institut Audiovisuel d'Orléans, graduating four years later. Although initially drawn to animation, he quickly shifted his focus to comic art. After a short story about the Devil in Les Récits (The Stories), he launched his major project: the four-volume Hispanola series published by Vents d’Ouest. In 1988, his unfinished story L’Anticycle was serialized in the short-lived magazine Golem. This project prompted him to pitch a science fiction series, Le Temps des Cendres (The Time of Ashes), to Soleil. Three volumes later, in 2001, he began Enwin (Soleil), proving that he is just as comfortable with fantasy as with other genres. After placing his latest series, Gilles de Carpe (Soleil), on hold, Meddour returned to Vents d’Ouest in 2005 with Ganarah. In 2009, he contributed to the L’Ultime Chimère (The Ultimate Chimera) project—a science fiction series where several artists illustrated different historical periods, based on a script by L.F. Bollée—and to La Geste des Chevaliers Dragons (The Geste of the Dragon Knights) for Soleil. In 2012, he illustrated John Arthur Livingstone - Le Roi des singes (John Arthur Livingstone – The King of the Monkeys), written by Bonifay. He subsequently published a dark adaptation of the fairy tale Snow White with Glénat, collaborating again with Bonifay, before reuniting with Laurent-Frédéric Bollée for the Espace Vital (Vital Space) trilogy. In 2021, Glénat published La Fille du Quai (The Girl of the Wharf) (written by Alexine).
