In 1996, Michel Plessix published an adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s Le Vent dans les saules (The Wind in the Willows). Ten years later, he created an original work inspired by this universe. The reader follows Saïd, a young fennec fox, and his companion Esprit du Vent (Spirit of the Wind) on a journey of self-discovery in which each stage becomes an opportunity for him to learn, grow, and better understand the world around him. Halfway between a philosophical tale and an adventure story, Michel Plessix’s artwork, with its softness and delicacy, plays a major role in the poetry of the book. Large panels without dialogue allow readers to adopt a contemplative pace, admire the richness of the landscapes, and embark on their own inner journey.
