Created by Victor Hubinon and conceived by Jean-Michel Charlier (Blueberry, Buck Danny, Tanguy et Laverdure…) in 1959 for the first issue of Pilote, Barbe-Rouge is one of the classic series of Franco-Belgian comics. Featuring the adventures of the bloodthirsty Barbe-Rouge, his son Captain Éric, Baba, Triple-Patte and his loyal buccaneers, it’s a true Proustian madeleine for lovers of pirate stories and fans of the adventures of the “Demon of the Caribbean”! Following Hubinon, a succession of talented artists took over, including Patrice Pellerin, who created several covers and two albums: Trafiquants de bois d'ébène (Ebony Wook Traffickers,Vol. 22, 1983) and Les Révoltés de la Jamaïque (The Rebels of Jamaica,Vol. 25, 1987). Today, the world of Barbe-Rouge continues through new series.
