Juan Gimenez Retrospective

The exhibition, the first of this scale since his death in 2020, retraces the immense work that the Argentine artist has left behind. It features around a hundred artworks from its greatest sagas: The Metabarons, The fourth Power, Segments, Moi, Dragon, Gangrène, Le Regard de l'Apocalypse, Jeu Eternel, Las Fabricas…

Juan Gimenez became famous for his stunning graphic interpretation of the science fiction masterpiece: The Metabarons (Les Humanoïdes Associés publishers), written by Alejandro Jodorowsky.

This artist developed a unique graphic style. His hyper-realistic drawing, the evocative power of his line and his taste for the excessive, which is reflected in his story-board, allowed him to give life to the major saga of The MetaBarons, as well as to many other sci-fi and epic fantasy stories. His universe is teeming with futuristic machines and spaceships with extremely elaborate graphics. The essence of Juan Gimenez' art also lies in his masterful sense of coloring, whose effects give a unique and spectacular plasticity to his work. The gallery pays tribute to this prominent name of the 9th Art, after devoting to him its very first exhibition-sale in 2019, during his lifetime.
