Following the success of his exhibition at the 2021 Quai des Bulles Festival, Frédéric Pillot will be exhibiting at the Daniel Maghen Gallery from December 15 to 24, 2021, and then from January 4 to 29, 2022.
Dive into the incredible world of Frédéric Pillot
On display will be some sixty vibrantly colored paintings from his most recent artworks: Balbuzar (2020, published by Daniel Maghen, winner of the Best Children's Book Award at the 2021 Imaginales Festival), Le Petit Poucet (2021, published by Flammarion Jeunesse), La Sorcière Crabibi (2021, published by Kaléidoscope), and Les Fabuleuses fables du bois de Burrow (2021, published by Little Urban).
Over the past 30 years, Frédéric Pillot has developed a captivating universe of sumptuous acrylic artworks enhanced with chalk, teeming with detail, color and light that has charmed young and old alike.
For this exhibition, Frédéric Pillot will take over the entire gallery space with a scenography reminiscent of the four featured albums: barrels, ropes, and oil lamps for Balbuzar, flying brooms and a magic cauldron for La Sorcière Crabibi, a rural setting for Les Fabuleuses fables du bois de Burrow, and Le Petit Poucet will cover the walls with small pebbles. Two superb sculptures of Balbuzar will also be on display: a monumental 3-meter statue by Thierry Chapeau and a composite bronze piece by Samuel Boulesteix.
This magical exhibition, not to be missed, will take place during the Christmas festivities and will immerse us in the wonderful world of this incredible creator.
