Benjamin Lacombe's exhibition “Shizen” opens on Wednesday, May 19, and will run until June 5, 2021, at the Daniel Maghen Gallery.
"Shizen": The totality of all things and beings
Benjamin Lacombe presents around a hundred original illustrations and sketches from his most recent books, such as Bambi (published by Albin Michel), Esprits & Créatures du Japon (Spirits & Creatures of Japan) and Histoires de Fantômes du Japon (Ghost Stories of Japan) (published by Soleil), L’Étonnante Famille Appenzell (The Amazing Appenzell Family) (published by Margot) and Charlock 1 & 2 (published by Flammarion), as well as unique sculptures created in collaboration with sculptor and miniaturist Julien Martinez.
Like a call to nature, whose title “Shizen” (Japanese for “all things and beings”) perfectly sums up its spirit, this event will immerse you in a fascinating universe through its captivating scenography.
The bookshop area of the Daniel Maghen gallery also offers signed copies of Curiosities and Memories, as well as collector's items (tote bags, pouches, and posters).
