Loïc Jouannigot

Born in 1953, Loïc Jouannigot published his first children’s book in 1987: Le Premier Bal d’Agaric Passiflore (Periwinkle at the Full Moon Ball), published by Milan, with text by Geneviève Huriet, which became an instant success. Honored with literary prizes and various awards, including the Saint-Exupéry Prize, he embarked on a long series of 24 titles. Today, the little Passiflore bunnies have been translated into 28 languages and are the subject of a 52-episode animated TV series, broadcasting since 2004 on networks like TF1 and Disney Channel. In 2012, at Dargaud, Loïc Jouannigot took over the La Famille Passiflore characters on his own into a comic art format, with two albums: L'Anniversaire de Dendelion (Dandelion's Birthday) and La Chorale (The Choir). These were followed by two other titles written by Michel Plessix: Mélodie potagère (Vegetable Melody) and La Chasse au Trésor (The Treasure Hunt). Since publication ceased in 2007, the charming and well-renowned Passiflore Family, boasting approximately 800,000 albums sold, is finally being reissued by Maghen publishing with À Bâbord, les Passiflore (All Aboard, the Bellflowers) in 2019, Pirouette et Nymphéas (Pirouette and Water Lilies) in 2020, and Alors, on dort ? (So, Are We Sleeping?) in August 2023, L’omelette géante (The Giant Omelette) in 2025, Les Passiflore mènent l’enquête (The Bellflowers Investigate) in 2026, and the upcoming Objectif rêves (Destination Dreams).
