Illustrator of Imaginary Worlds

Florence Magnin is a French comic scriptwriter, artist and colorist, born in 1950. She is known for her poetic visual style, inspired by fantasy, dreams, and fairy tales. After a brief stint at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she began her career in illustration by designing sets for the Théâtre Astral in Besançon, before making a name for herself in the world of comic art. Denoël offered her several cover commissions for the Présence du futur collection, an experience that launched her career, which continued with publishers such as Fleuve noir, Mnémos, and L’Atalante. In 1990, she ventured into comic art and collaborated notably with comic scriptwriters such as Rodolphe, with whom she created L’Autre Monde (The Other World). She also worked on children’s books and role-playing game publications.
