A Sensual and Elegant Line

Enrique Jiménez Corominas began his professional career as a comic-book artist in 1986 after winning the national Zone 84 comics competition. Following the publication of numerous short stories, publisher Josep Toutain commissioned him to create the series Tragaldabas (1989) for the magazine Creepy. This was followed by Historias del circo (written by Jorge Zentner, 1993), Cuando tus pies París (written by Jaime Baigne, 1992), Eye Gray (1999), and several other one-shots published in Cimoc and Heavy Metal magazines. His cover art and illustrations have been published by major publishers including Planeta DeAgostini, Círculo de Lectores, Santillana, Martínez Roca, Grijalbo, Forum, Norma Editorial, and Marvel Italia. Corominas also worked as an artist and storyboard artist for the production companies Lola Films and La Cosa de las Películas, while simultaneously creating book covers for Minotauro Publishing. In 2004, he published Dontar with Paquet, his first comic book for the French market, before illustrating Dorian Gray for Galerie Daniel Maghen, a graphic adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s celebrated novel The Picture of Dorian Gray. He is also known as the illustrator of the first volumes of George R. R. Martin’s acclaimed A Song of Ice and Fire series for the Spanish edition.
