Illuminating fairy tales

After earning a bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts, Aliocha Gouverneur made a name for himself in various fields: vinyl album covers, illustrations for cards and the press, stage sets, and more. But his first love remains children’s illustration and dreamlike worlds steeped in magic. His collaboration with Benjamin Lacombe led to a splendid graphic adaptation of The Snow Queen, rendered in a Slavic ornamental style of remarkable richness and depth.

With his timeless and delicate illustrations, Aliocha Gouverneur pulls off the remarkable feat of breathing new life into the imagery of a world-famous fairy tale.
